8 FEBRUARY 2015 - LAUNCHING OF THE WAVES OF ENGLISH

SMK Pinang Tunggal today took up the challenge to 'surf' the waves of English as they officially launched the programme at their school. Waves of English is a programme under the Kedah state government launched in hopes of improving the levels of spoken and written English among school students. In her speech during the launch, our school principal, Pn. Hjh Che Rasnah said, she hoped that students will learn to speak in English and soon be confident speakers of the language.

During the launch, the students also had an opportunity to showcase their talents as they performed two songs. The first was a rendition of  I'll think of you which was accompanied by patty cake clapping. The next was a self composed song titled 'All about the waves'.

It is hoped that this programme will help students to improve their levels of English and be brave enough to speak, read and write in English.

4 FEBRUARI 2015 - MAJLIS PELANCARAN BULAN BAHASA

SMK Pinang Tunggal telah melancarkan bulan bahasa pada 4 Februari dengan tujuan melahirkan kesedaran akan kepentingan Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris bukan sahaja untuk menghadapi peperiksaan, tetapi juga untuk melahirkan warga yang kreatif, berbudi bahasa, prihatin dan cinta akan bangsa dan negara.

Pada majlis pelancaran ini, pelajar-pelajar turut serta membuat persembahan dalam Bahasa Inggeris dan Bahasa Melayu. Sepanjang bulan Februari, pelajar SMK Pinang Tunggal berpeluang untuk menyertai pelbagai aktiviti untuk mempertingkatkan dan memperkuasakan penggunaan Bahsasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris mereka Antaranya termasuk menulis esei, teka silang kata, public speaking, story telling dan quizzes.

Unit Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Inggeris berharap kempen ini akan menambah pengetauhuan murid mengenai kemahiran berbahasa disamping mengcungkil bakat murid untuk diketengahkan dalam pertandingan peringkat daerah dan sebagainya.
